Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Stretched Canvas
Description
A limited number of this size in a series of Native American Warrior Chiefs. Each one an original acrylic on stretched cotton canvas. Variant larger sizes on display at studio, and soon at Art Trends Gallery, Chesterfield, MO. I began this themed series with the intent of bringing attention, in a thought provoking way, to "our" Native American brethren and their plight. Each work is bright and vibrant in color, with heavy texture, and a simple, almost childlike brush stroke finish. After a visit to Nashville, and BB Kings Blues Bar, I was inspired by a self taught "folk" artist prominently displayed there.I have mixed archaic and modern (peace sign) features with reckless abandon, not to offend, but to illicit an emotion. Enjoy, dislike or reserve opinion......either way, I have accomplished my goal. Thank you.

interesting symbolitry..an american flag representing true americans, the skull like face, showing the death of that said way of life..even the split colors in the background shows a torn image and myths that forever tear at the very essense of native life.. i think you mentioned to me once that you are part indian..have you ever thought of doing a sense of traditional stuff?.. nice work man.. i have a shawl dancer that i need to finish to go with the male dancer i painted..but i have been to lazy..lol
